高の原 · Nara
A planned new town about 30 to 35 minutes to Kyoto Station by express, characterized by densely laid-out pedestrian-only paths. It spans Nara City and neighboring municipalities, so as long as you check how the administrative districts are divided, living conditions are stable.
A planned city spanning Nara City and Seika Town, Kizugawa City, Kyoto Prefecture, about 30 to 35 minutes to Kyoto Station on the Kintetsu Kyoto Line express. Developed as a large-scale new town first undertaken by the Kansai branch of the Japan Housing Corporation in 1972, it has pedestrian-only paths laid out as densely as blood vessels, which were among the densest anywhere at the time of construction, and with the remains of Heijo-kyo, the capital of the Nara period, nearby, it also serves as a gateway to Kansai Science City. However, as a planned city its commercial scale is not large, and it is a quiet bedroom town that cannot compare with central Kyoto or Osaka as an entertainment area. It suits families who want to raise children in a quiet environment with plenty of green space and walking paths while commuting to Kyoto.
