Living in Osaki

A planned office and tower-condominium district that has changed from a factory zone into a sub-center. With no red-light district it is safe, and daily life is almost fully complete with station-connected commercial facilities, but because redevelopment has gone mainly toward offices and towers, cheap small units are scarce. It suits office workers and DINKs for whom a transfer-free commute is the top priority, and is a heavy burden for single-person households on a tight budget.

It is a redevelopment hub of Shinagawa Ward served by five lines including the JR Yamanote, Saikyo and Shonan-Shinjuku lines and the Rinkai Line. It is neatly arranged as a business center with high-rise offices such as Gate City. With a strong office character, nights and weekends are relatively quiet. With excellent direct access in multiple directions, it is convenient for those who want to live close to work.
