A small town in Fuwa District, Gifu Prefecture, about 50 to 55 minutes from Tarui Station on the JR Tokaido Main Line to Nagoya Station including transfers. It was the base of Takenaka Hanbei, famous as Toyotomi Hideyoshi's brilliant strategist, and the Zendoji temple with his grave and a statue in front of Tarui Station remain, and with Tarui-juku, the 57th post station of the Nakasendo, and Nangu Taisha Shrine, burned during the Battle of Sekigahara and rebuilt by Tokugawa Iemitsu, the historical material is abundant. However, it is a small town with a population of less than 20,000, so compared with Nagoya there are almost no commercial facilities or entertainment area, and everyday infrastructure depends heavily on Ogaki and Nagoya. It is a neighborhood that suits single-person households and office workers who commute to Nagoya and want the quiet life of a small town steeped in history.
