大垣 · Gifu
Gifu Prefecture's second-largest city, long called the 'City of Water' for its abundant groundwater and waterways. With Softopia Japan, an IT park built in 1996, it has an industrial base that goes beyond a simple bedroom town. Nagoya is in the 30-minute range by New Rapid without transfers and rents are clearly cheaper than in Nagoya, so it suits people who are willing to lengthen their commute a little to save a lot on rent.
A commuter zone 33 minutes to Nagoya Station by JR New Rapid. Rent for 1K and 1DK units near Ogaki Station is about 10 to 25% cheaper than in central Nagoya (Naka Ward and so on), and it is an industrial city with many automotive manufacturers and IT companies, so many Nagoya-commuting office workers and families live here. However, once you leave the station area, public transportation is infrequent and it is inconvenient without a car. It suits Nagoya office-worker families who want to settle quietly in a spacious, inexpensive home.
